Bobby Roode was the longest-reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion in TNA history. Before Destination X 2012, Roode held the TNA World Heavyweight Championship---the most prestigious title in IMPACT WRESTLING. Also, he is considered to be one of the best tag team wrestlers of all time with more TNA World Tag Team Championships than you can count on one hand.
Roode has been a top contender since joining IMPACT WRESTLING in 2004 as part of Team Canada. He holds several impressive victories in his career, both individually and alongside “The Cowboy” James Storm in the tag team ranks. With his ego, desire and attainment of the most coveted title in IMPACT WRESTLING, Roode’s singles career is quickly catching up to his extremely impressive tag team resume.
“Beer Money,” the most decorated partnership in TNA history, was the dominant tag team led by Roode and Storm. This multi-time TNA World Tag Team Championship team currently holds the record for the longest reign as TNA World Tag Team Champions. Unfortunately, “Beer Money” reached its demise in 2011 following Roode’s betrayal against his partner for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship title. Roode went on to hold the title for a record 256 days until a stunning loss to Austin Aries at Destination X 2012.
At Bound for Glory 2012, Storm defeated Roode during the most highly anticipated grudge match of the year. Hulk Hogan named MMA Superstar King Mo as the special enforcer for this outright street fight.
On IMPACT, Roode recently earned the TNA World Tag Team Championship, alongside Austin Aries, after defeating Hernandez and Chavo Guerrero, Jr. It’s just a matter of time before these two larger-than-life personalities take over IMPACT WRESTLING.
