IMPACT WRESTLING, TNA Entertainment's flagship television show seen Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on Spike TV, will broadcast its action-packed event LIVE Thursday, May 9 from BancorpSouth Arena in Tupelo, Miss. Showtime is 7 p.m.
IMPACT WRESTLING Superstar JOSEPH PARK and TNA VP of Marketing Michael Weber joined Tupelo Mayor Jack Reed Jr., BancorpSouth Arena Executive Director Todd Hunt and representatives from the Boys & Girls Club of North Mississippi for an event announcing the details of the IMPACT WRESTLING appearance.
“The city of Tupelo is excited to welcome IMPACT WRESTLING to the BancorpSouth Arena,” said Mayor Reed, who was presented with a replica edition of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship title belt. “Wrestling has a long and storied past in Tupelo, and we’re thrilled to add a new chapter to that history on May 9.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, April 5 at the BancorpSouth Arena box office, online at www.ticketmaster.com or charge by phone at 800-745-3000. Tickets start at $15, and fans also have the opportunity to purchase $125 tickets in the Knockout Zone, a section of floor seats hosted by TNA Knockouts CHRISTY HEMME and SOCAL VAL which include buffet-style food and beverage service and appearances from some of your favorite IMPACT WRESTLING Superstars.
“We’re excited to welcome TNA IMPACT WRESTLING to Tupelo,” BancorpSouth Arena’s Todd Hunt said. “It’s been 13 years since a televised wrestling event originated from Tupelo, and we’re thrilled to give our fans the opportunity to witness in person what they’ve only been able to watch on TV for so many years.”
IMPACT WRESTLING partners with community organizations in each of the television markets to which it travels. The Boys & Girls Club of North Mississippi will receive 40 tickets for distribution to its clients.
“The Immortal” HULK HOGAN and “The Icon” STING lead IMPACT WRESTLING Superstars such as current TNA World Heavyweight Champion BULLY RAY, Olympic Gold Medalist KURT ANGLE and “The Phenomenal” A.J. STYLES, plus the renegade faction ACES & EIGHTS and the lovely and lethal TNA KNOCKOUTS, as part of the IMPACT WRESTLING LIVE events.
IMPACT WRESTLING’s Tupelo appearance will mark the fifth stop on the company’s new “live TV on the road” schedule, which began with a packed show at Chicago’s Sears Centre Arena in mid-March.
“Fans from around the world have been coming to us for more than eight years to be a part of the IMPACT WRESTLING audience. It's now time for us to take the IMPACT WRESTLING television cameras to them,” said TNA President Dixie Carter. “This is a very important next evolution for the company, and I’m excited that the backdrop to the show will feature our great fans in arenas around the country and world.”
