Here’s what you missed on Thursday’s live IMPACT WRESTLING on Spike TV from Orlando:
IMPACT fans barely had time to pack the house before an all-out four man brawl erupted outside the ring. World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries and his partner Kenny King squared off against Bobby Roode and X Division Champion Zema Ion in the evening’s first match. Roode and Ion may have ignited the powder keg early, but Aries and King emerged victorious after a devastating spinning slam and pin from King against Zema Ion.
Interim General Manager Sting presented damning video evidence to the crowd against James Storm for the Cowboy’s involvement in last Thursday’s “Aces and Eights” beatings. Storm defended himself against the accusations from both Sting and Kurt Angle, who had been attacked twice by the gang, setting the stage for a main event with serious implications.
Bully Ray held off the wildly energetic Robbie E and his bodyguard Robbie T for a win by pinfall and seven points toward the Bound for Glory Series.
With reigning World Champion Miss Tessmacher commentating, Tara, Madison Rayne, Gail Kim and Mickie James competed in a free-for-all match to determine the number one Knockout contender at Hardcore Justice. For the second straight week, Madison Rayne appeared to be pinned, but was given the win after referee Earl Hebner, the object of her affection, made a questionable call.
Chavo Guerrero, Jr., made his IMPACT in-ring debut against Kid Kash and did not disappoint. Guerrero claimed an impressive first victory after two tribute moves to his late uncle, Eddie Guerrero. Three straight body slams and a “Frog Splash” from the ropes later, Guerrero pinned the exhausted Kid Kash.
In AJ Styles’ absence, Christopher Daniels and Kazarian took to the ring, not to antagonize, but rather to throw a baby shower for Styles’ supposed mistress. Diapers were gifted and Appletinis were enjoyed by all.
In the evening’s much anticipated main event, a slew of IMPACT’s finest superstars came out to guard the ring against the “Aces and Eights” while Kurt Angle and James Storm competed for BFG Series points. A jaw-crushing “Last Call Super Kick” won Storm seven points toward the BFG Series and the outright series lead, but suspicion continued to mount as the “Aces and Eights” gang never emerged to face the IMPACT superstars.
Is the “Cowboy” James Storm really behind the “Aces and Eights” gang? Who will move one step closer toward being the number one contender at Bound for Glory? Find out next week on an all-new IMPACT WRESTLING only on Spike!
