RCW presents live pro wrestling featuring Mick Foley, Hernandez, Trina and more!
River City Wrestling -- San Antonio's brand of professional wrestling -- hosts a live wrestling event entitled "It's a Nice Day in RCW" on Saturday, August 1, at the San Antonio Events Center, 8111 Meadow Leaf (corner of 410 & Marbach).
The doors open at 8 p.m. and the action starts at 8:30 p.m.
Appearing at this event will be "The Super-Mex" Hernandez, the lovely Trina, and the "Hardcore Legend" Mick Foley, a former WWE Champion who now wrestles for TNA.
On the card:
Sportscaster Joe Reinagel went from being Commissioner to now "the boss" of RCW. Due to his team's win at the July 18 "Step Into Our World" event, Reinagel has renamed RCW "Reinagel Championship Wrestling." He has already made a few changes (such as the look of the web site) and is now in charge of the company. What will happen with this new, dark direction?
"The Super-Mex" Hernandez, fresh off his comeback from neck surgery in RCW and TNA, will face the self-proclaimed "RCW Legend" Andy Dalton in a Bodybag Match. While it is interesting that Reinagel made this a singles' match, however, rest assured that Reinagel's clan of Pink, Joey Spector, and Mr. Yebisu will be keeping a close eye on this match. Reinagel also stated that he has something up his sleeve for Hernandez now that former RCW Promoter Brandon Oliver is history.
Big Dogg will defend his RCW Championship in a mandatory title defense against "Flawless" Jerome Daniels. Reinagel has made this match a mandatory title defense to see where Dogg's loyalties lie. For the past few months, "The Enforcer" of the HNIC, Big Dogg, has had a conflict with fellow member "Pretty Boy" Keith Lee. Now Dogg must put his title up against the spokesperson of the group, Jerome Daniels. Will Daniels feel the brunt of Dogg's power, or will Dogg display where his loyalties belong?
The Gulf Coast Connection (Rudy Russo & Ben Galvan) will put up their half of the Tag Team Championship against the half held by "Pretty Boy" Keith Lee. On July 18, The Gulf Coast Connection defeated Big Dogg and Keith Lee, but Lee stated that his half of the championship was not on the line. While he escaped with the title belt on that night, now Lee has to put the money where his mouth is by facing the Gulf Coast Connection 2-on-1!
The flamboyant Ann Dromeda will team with the "Extreme Aztec" SKAM-13 to face the creepy clown known as Regrub and the vicious Pink. Pink has shown her mean streak lately, aligning herself with Reinagel and her brother Spector. With the creepy Regrub by her side, they will face the high-flying luchador SKAM and Ann Dromeda, whose demure demeanor cannot mask his undying passion and talent inside the ring.
Long-time Texas referee Alex Marrozos will take on the hated Joey "Supershot" Spector in a rematch inside a Steel Cage. These two have taken their rivalry to a higher level with Marrozos actually getting physical inside the ring. These two met already in a Street Fight back on the June 6 "Sunny Days are Here Again" event, with Alex scoring the victory, although Spector claims no one saw that his shoulders were up because he was inside of a trash can! One other thing -- with the match being inside a steel cage, this guarantees a one-on-one match between these two with nowhere to run!
On July 18, Weazy Woo was supposed to face Skitz-Bro in a "Loser Leaves HNIC Match," but the group instead unceremoniously dismissed Weazy from the HNIC. This time, these two will face, with the disgruntled Weazy Woo looking to settle his score with Skitz-Bro!
All of this, plus much more!!
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students/military ID.
