Former WWE Superstar Andrew "Test" Martin Found Dead at 33

- Former WWE Superstar Andrew "Test" Martin passed away last night at his home in Tampa, Florida at the age of 33, just four days away form his 34th birthday. We don't have many more details right now, but reports say he was found in his apartment. Tampa area authorities have declined to confirm it is Martin but word within the wrestling industry has been widespread.

Despite his earlier writings about the drug scene in the wrestling business, Martin ended up suspended under the WWE Wellness Policy and was released shortly afterwards.  At the time, Martin claimed it was a mutual release that he asked the company for. Martin made a few appearances for TNA that year but there was a feeling that his huge physique was neon sign for the impending US Congress investigation into the business and also a feeling that his attitude didn't go over well with the TNA locker room, so he wasn't brought back. Test talked about retiring from the business but has made several appearances overseas since then, working a match in Japan last month. Martin was scheduled to leave this for a wrestling tour of Europe that would have made stops in several countries.

We will keep you updated with more details as they come in. Our deepest condolences go out to Martin's friends and family.

Has to be the least surprising death ever. How apt that after doing so many pro steroids interviews that he seems to have died a drug related death......still, poor sod, nothing fun about dying.

I've said nothing disrespectful. Just happens to be a death you could see coming from a mile off. How psychotic of you Ivan, must be your mom having a lay in and the breast milk jitters kicking in.

Another unfortunate case of the steroid era.  How many more of these wrestlers will have to die before they realize it's really not worth taking the SH*T  RIP Test

Test had a legacy? Since When? With no disrespect intended, Test's legacy is that of the ultimate mid-carder. You wanna know who had a "legacy"? Crash Holly. Miss Elizabeth. Brian fu##ing Pillman for chrissakes. I mean, c'mon. Yeah, his death is tragic, but if he was still alive, as far as the pro wrestling scene went, he would still have been a "Whatever happened to....." statistic. RIP Test, you were briefly awesome.

an obvious tragedy but not to big of surprise as it was common knowledge he was abusing his body which is why both the WWE and TNA wanted nothing to do with him. I really hope this doesn't lead to more bad press for the WWE because it probably will and with wrestlemania round the corner it's news they could probably do without.

It's a lot like when a heroin addict dies......It's tragic, but really they should have laid off the smack. Test knew the risks, denied the risks, and paid the price, end of. His legacy in wrestling history will be as a mid-card juice freak whose only significant action was dying young. Hopefully the younger wrestlers who heard his pro steroid, bullsh## interviews will see him as an example of what happens to idiots. Very sad for his friends and family i'm sure, but the guy was a total mess for years and in a lot of ways there must be some relief it's over.....no more waiting for it to happen

It's always sad news when a wrestler dies, but I am interested in how the media will react to the news, should it be picked up by major stations, because it could go either way for WWE because while it may look bad on the wrestlers because of someone dying so young and most likely as the result of drugs - the media will likely say WWE are at fault for not putting him through rehab or something - but his death also shows that WWE's drug testing policy is actually working because Test was with the company after they implimented the drugs testing system, he failed at least one test and he was eventually fired, so it shows that WWE are doing what they said they would with those wrestlers who abuse drugs.

why does everyone just assume that it was a roid related death? let's make sure we have all of the facts before we start hacking the guy to pieces. get a clue and get a life, fellas!!!

When a guy dies, in non suspicious circumstances, sitting in a chair it's either heart failure or a drug overdose. Andrew Test Martin has been messed up on steroids and various other drugs for years.....it's not rocket science. Aside from anything else nobody is hacking the guy to pieces, it's a sad event, but it happens. This is the downside of body building......you eat all the wrong food, take all the wrong drugs and then your body is left weaker than a 3 year old girl. It's a gimme that he died of one of two things, an overdose or serious heart damage.

Speculate all you like people.... that's why we have a comments section

God bless the whole family, i feel for them. Test no doubt was a great person, and played a influential role in the wwe. It is real sad that he passed away so young. Of course the media will probably eat it up instead of actually giving a damn about the family. But its stuff like this that makes me glad that wwe is cracking down on anyone who is taking drugs. They have a real good program now, and this is just one of those things that couldnt have been prevented. Test did use drugs which is one of the reasons wwe let him go. rip Test..

I would like to write a memorial for Andrew "Test" Martin. I have been watching Wrestling for over 50 years. I remember when Test was to marry Stephanie  McMann, when Triple H married her instead at a drive trough wedding in Vegas. I liked Test as a wrestler and as a person. It is a shame when a star like Test dies at such a young age. I pray for Andrew's family and that though his death, that someone will come to the Lord through this tragedy. You see only Jesus can satisfy your inner self. The world gives glitter and false hopes, but believing in Jesus Christ is the real deal. Jesus can make your life have real meaning. I trust everyone reading my article will remember Andrew Martin in a good light and put your trust in Jesus Christ today.           Ralph
